VERTS combines Swiss design clarity with Peruvian textile expertise. Designed between two worlds, made in small batches in Lima, Peru.
VERTS was founded by brothers Josia and Elias Lyrer (from Basel) and grew out of a personal connection: Our mother is from Peru, and Josia himself lived there.
During this time, friendships grew within the local textile community. From this, a network of workshops, producers, and skilled workers gradually developed. Today, we produce directly on site in small, controlled production batches, working together with a seamstress with whom a relationship of trust has developed over time.
The cross on the pocket and the embossed VERTS logo on the lower leg make our jeans unmistakable. Both details are created in several production steps—with machine precision and careful handwork.
Embroidered, appliquéd and washed. It is only after washing that the denim around the embroidery starts to fray. That is why no cross is like the other.
The design is digitally positioned to the millimeter
and programmed for the embroidery machine.
The cross is embroidered using a multi-head embroidery machine. The embroidery attaches an appliquéd fabric square to the trouser pocket.
The fabric layer is cut along the cross contour. Then, the jeans pocket is sewn on with the finished cross appliqué.
During the washing process, the fabric edges around the cross fray. The fringes are then shaped by hand.
VERTS, the cross and dots, embossed as a relief directly into the fabric and incorporated as an insert along the inseam.
Everything starts with the design of the die: The spacing and sizes of the lettering, crosses, and dots must be exact so that the relief is embossed cleanly and legibly into the denim.
The pattern is created digitally,
with precisely coordinated
spacing and sizes for a
clean embossing.
The pattern is CNC-milled into an
aluminum plate. It is
the tool for every embossing.
The pieces for the inner leg
are cut from denim fabric
according to a pattern.
The matrix presses the relief into
the fabric. The pieces are then measured and inspected before being sewn into the jeans.

III
Refined with European ozone and laser technology. Ozone brightens the indigo without chlorine and uses significantly less water. The result: an exceptionally soft feel.
CHLORINE-FREE · USES LESS WATER · GENTLER GRIP
The pattern is programmed and drawn onto the denim line by line.
Light lines break through the indigo like fine cracks in stone.
No marbling pattern is alike another.
Washed, inspected and individually packaged. One cut, three characters.
